Mourelatos on Ste-Catherine closed 2Flickr

So many shops and stores closed on Ste-Catherine street. I don't think I've ever seen it this bad. Anyway, I love the built of this building. Notice the small window on the top left.

Here's the ultra modern extension to the Hotel Mount Stephen on Drummond. I love the look. Looks like a monolith. Very minimalistic. I didn't take any photos of the front since there were big trucks in front of it. I'll try to take some during the weekend. This is the back of the addition and the structure looks like some sort of shielding for the structure beneath it.

A small old house on Verdun street was demolished last week. I saw it was boarded up and I wanted to take a photo of it before it was demolished but I was too late. You can see the house in some other photos I took such as this one where the small house is at the very right. When the weather gets warmer the demolitions get going.

Boarded up on de Bleury

This elevated garage on de Bleury st was boarded-up last fall. A new condo project was supposed to be built on top of it but nothing seems to have happened to it. Whatever happens hopefully they'll keep the facade.

The 'Bazz' building seen here from Walnut street in St-Henri. According to my sources, the super wide building will soon be demolished. It's amazing that it took so long for this to happen since the beautiful land next to it has been vacant for many years and it seems rip for a new construction. Personally, I would leave the land as is but making money always comes first.

New condos on Centre street in the Pointe. The house that was there just last year had been abandoned for many years. This new project is not surprising but it is surprising how fast it went up.

This garage on William street in Griffintown was apparently damaged during the ice storm of 1998. And it remained like that up until it was demolished 12 years later in 2010. Before 2009, many places in Montreal were stagnant and neglected.
