Place Jacques-Cartier in Old Montreal will be getting a new look for 2017. It seems the mayor doesn't like the public space as it is but also because no one uses it during winter time (duh!) so they've announced a new look that will be built just in time for the 375th anniversary of the city, which will take place in 2017. The new design is suppose to draw people even during the long winter months. I have a bad feeling about this. I'm thinking this has more to do with the brand new hotel built there during this past year and Montrealers will be footing the bill so the hotel can have some sparkling new surroundings. I also think the area is blah but there are other places in much greater need of fixing than PJC.

La Place Jacques-Cartier dans le Vieux-Montréal aura un nouveau look pour 2017. Il semble que le maire n'aime pas l'apparence de la Place publique mais aussi a cause que persone l'utilise pendant l'hiver (allo!). Donc ils ont annoncé un nouveau design qui sera construit juste à temps pour le 375 e anniversaire de la ville, qui aura lieu en 2017. Ils disent que le nouveau design attirera les gens, même durant les longs mois d'hiver. Ouan! J'ai un mauvais pressentiment avec ce projet. Je pense cela a plus à voir avec le nouvel hôtel construit là durant la derniere année et les Montréalais vont payés la note pour que l'hôtel puisse avoir un nouvel espace scintillant autour de lui. Je pense aussi que l'endroit est blah, mais il y a d'autres endroits en plus grand besoin que la PJC.
