A long time abandoned building was renovated near St. Patrick street. I was in shocked when I saw this. For a change of pace, the old building wasn't demolished. I'll return to it once it's completed.

Un immeuble abandonné depuis longtemps a été rénové près de la rue Saint-Patrick. J'ai été en choque quand j'ai vu cela. Pour faire changement, un vieux bâtiment n'a pas été démoli. J'y retournerai une fois qu'il aura terminé.

Still in Verdun, this construction project on the corner of Atwater and Joseph is finally taking shape after 6 years of no activity. Several different condo projects were announced but eventually abandoned. Now it's a combination townhouses and and condos. Townhouses start at around $440,000! I wouldn't live there. The traffic is non-stop. A garage and an old 2 storey building were demolished 6 and 5 years ago respectively.

Toujours à Verdun, ce projet de construction au coin d'Atwater et de Joseph prend finalement forme après 6 ans d'inactivité. Plusieurs projets de condo différents ont été annoncés mais finalement abandonnés. Maintenant, c'est un combo maisons de ville et de condos. Les maisons de ville commencent à environ 440 000 $! Je ne voudrais pas vivre là-bas. Le trafic est sans arrêt. Un garage et un enorme bâtiment de 2 étages ont été démolis il y a 6 et 5 ans respectivement.

New construction going up on Bannantyne street in Verdun. Where there used to be a handful of apartments now there will be 32 condos. This is the future.

Yet another massive set of ugly condos going up in Griffintown. The condo explosion in Montreal started roughly in 2009, the year I started the blog. In 2019, that will make it 10 years of changes to the urban landscape of the city.

Construction of the new bridge to replace the Champlain bridge is starting slowly. There was more activity last year when I made an overview of the project. I guess they stopped everything because of winter. Photographed from Nuns' Island.

The St. Columba house is celebrating its 100th anniversary in helping the community of Pointe-Saint-Charles. At the end of April, they will host a party to raise funds and awareness.

The 93-year-old Trinity Memorial church on Sherbrooke street in NDG is set to close this year. No specific date was giving. Beautiful church.

This store has been boarded-up for years now after a fire. It's located on Centre street in Pointe-Saint-Charles. The store use to sell food imports from Africa. It used to be in another location, on the corner of Ropery and Centre, which also caught fire a decade ago. I've posted about it and I'll repost it again.

Ce magasin a été barricadé depuis des années après un incendie. Il est situé sur la rue Centre à Pointe-Saint-Charles. Le magasin vendait des importations alimentaires en provenance d'Afrique. Il se trouvait dans un autre endroit, au coin de Ropery and Centre, qui a également pris feu il y a une dizaine d'années. J'ai posté à ce sujet et je le republierai à nouveau.

A very old red brick building was demolished on Wellington and Ann streets in Griffintown (not the big building in background). You can see its foundation on the right. I loved that building. I took beautiful photos of it. Oh well...

The new Yoo condo project in Griffintown is taking shape. There's at least a dozen on-going construction projects in this borough, which is totally different from its previous self.
